Following is the introduction from our first hard copy issue of the Embroiled News dated January 1995:

Dear writers, poets, artists and subscribers,

It is with great gratitude to those of you who have contributed your work that I write this letter. You have all made it possible for us to publish this first edition ofthe EMBROILED NEWS. The response was greater than expected and we are continuing to be deeply involved with the up-coming issues. We will however, still be in need of new manuscripts, poems, art and letters for the "Opinion Page." We also invite you to write current news reports for the "People Embroiled" section - please be brief and original.

With this first issue we have begun to learn the meaning of the word publishing and, the labor of love it demands. We, meaning our fledgling staff, are doing all the work. Emily at the typewriter, while I do the paste up’s and make it all ready for the printing dead line.

Lastly, lick the stamps and mail a fresh copy of the Embroiled News to you while worrying about what Professor Malatesta will be writing next.

We hope you will like our format and enjoy reading the EMBROILED NEWS well enough to mention our publication to your friends and neighbors.

Again I thank you, for all the wonderful witty, informative and inspiring material we have been receiving. It is also my hope that those of you who are still reluctant or perhaps intimidated, will find that special spark of creative courage to send one of your artistic or prose creations for our upcoming issues.

Many thanks,

Giovanni Caliendo

If you are an artist, photographer, writer, poet or a crafty person, please contribute and share your work with us and the rest of the world! I will soon post additional information how you may participate in the "Guideline and Submission" section. Take a moment to get more information before clicking away.
