The Never Ending Adventures Of Prince Jake
When the day is clear and there is no wind you can hear laughter in the forest, in the Jarjoura kingdom. The laughter belongs to a young prince named Jake. He is in his favorite place in the kingdom, the meadow in the middle of the forest. This is where all of his adventures begin and end.
In this meadow there is a small waterfall that pours into a shallow pool of water. Sometimes when it is hot you can see a nude Jake slide down a flume of smooth rocks, worn by the passing of water and time, right down into the cool water.
Today prince Jake heard through the wise old owl, Merlin, that there is mischief afoot. Merlin said that the animals in the forest are hearing strange noises and are missing some of their belongings. A set of Rabbit’s curtains are missing. Bear’s welcome mats are gone. The Mice are missing some of their good china. Squirrel is missing his favorite smoking pipe. And I am missing my favorite Stephen King book.
The animals say that the nose is coming from the old abandoned oak tree. Some of the younger children say that it is haunted. But I don’t think so. Prince Jake can you go see what is in the old oak tree so you can put our fears to rest.
Naturally, I will go. How far do I have to ravel before I get to the tree.
Walk pass the waterfall, follow the stream till you get to Turtle’s front porch. There you will see two paths, take the right one till you see a giant tree. That is the old oak tree. Remember to take the right path. The left one will lead you to the witch of the forest, Hagatha. She is a mean one to cross paths with.
Okay, Merlin. I will try to go. I will be back soon with some news of what or who is taking everyone’s belongings. Bye bye big guy.
See you later alligator. And remember prince Jake, please take the right path!! Hagatha is a horrible witch. She can turn you into a goon so fast you wouldn’t know what hit you. I have seen it before.
Okay the right path, let me leave already. Bye!
Prince Jake went hopping along to the waterfall. As he was hopping he noticed Rabbit’s youngest hare, Freddy, was crying on top of a rock. Prince Jake stopped hopping and asked Freddy what was the matter.
I am crying because my brothers and sisters are making fun of me. You see prince Jake I cannot hop. I know I am a rabbit and rabbits are suppose to hop but I can’t. I just can’t.
Oh Freddy, you are so silly. Of course you can hop. My daddy taught me how to hop. It’s real easy. All you have to do is think of something that makes you happy. Like bubble gum, Christmas, birthdays, presents, or grandma’s kisses. Then all you do is lift yourself up and you are hopping.
Okay let me try ... hey I am hopping! Thank you prince Jake now I can play with my brothers and sisters.
Safe trip potato chip. I would join you but I am on a mission from Merlin, the old owl. ‘Bye.
‘Bye, prince Jake and thank you again for teaching me how to hop.
Prince Jake went on his way hopping, skipping, and jumping towards the waterfall. He found the stream. As he was following it he heard a most terrible noise at Turtle’s front porch. Prince Jake ran to Turtle’s house and there he foundTurtle swimming in the shallow pool in front of his porch.
Turtle what happened? Are you all right? Should I get nurse Mouse? Turtle speak to me!
Oh hello prince Jake. I didn’t hear you over the splashing. I fell in the water trying to fish with my tail. Now I see that my tail is too short for this. I sure wish I knew who took my fishing pole. It is getting kind of boring eating fried worms and vegetables. I want some nice rainbow trout smothered in onions.
Well, Turtle, I am on my way to solve the mystery. You know the other animals have things missing too. Merlin has asked me to go to the old oak tree to see who is living there and to find out who is the thief. Meanwhile, why don’t you use my fishing pole to catch your dinner. It is leaning against the maple tree near the waterfall. Good luck Turtle.
Prince Jake found the two paths by Turtle’s front porch and started walking to the left. Prince Jake knew he forgot something but he couldn’t remember what it was.
What will happen to prince Jake? He took the left path instead of the right one. Will he run into Hagatha, the mean old witch who lives at the end of the path?
What will happen to the animals stolen property? Will prince Jake ever find out who lives in the old oak tree?
Stay tuned for the next issue for ,...THE NEVER ENDING ADVENTURES OF PRINCE JAKE.
