For a number of years I have been creating in terra cotta (red clay) whimsical rolled pottery figures. Originally they were made as gifts for family members and friends. Recently however, I have introduced these one of a kind clay creations for sale at the studio. They are custom-made to the client’s request and just about any subject matter can be recreated into a wall plaque or in the round free standing design group.

Briefly, these rolled pottery figures are hand made with clay, then fired in our kiln at the studio to high temperatures. Once they have cooled they are carefully hand painted and sealed. No two are alike, and they are made with the intent to bring a smile to anyone who will see them.

Shown here are examples of a few finished rolled pottery figure plaques including the last two, made for Luciano Pavarotti and Johnny Carson respectively.

If you wish to own or commission one of these collectable hand rolled clay items, all I will need to begin is for you to suggest a motif or subject. I will later make a quick sketch based on your idea. Once approved by you I will execute the design in clay. Depending on our schedule, the process usually involves about three weeks. Write to us for additional details and estimated price.
