Emily is an instinctive artist. She has over the years taken the challenge in a number of creative endeavors; from crocheting delicate intricate patterns to pen and ink drawing of her childhood, she has always created the finest artistic workmanship. Yet it is how she sculpts and shapes a piece of steatite, a rough soapstone, that brings forth within her the natural ability to create beautiful objects of art. Emily’s creative inspiration is derived from her Inupiat culture and traditions. As a native Alaskan she effortlessly employs her many skills to capture moments in time be it modeled in clay or carved in stone. We invite you to explore the world of "Emily’s Art." She has exhibited her extensive work on both coasts of the United States and had a successful one woman art show in Oregon. She is currently writing and illustrating a non-fiction book. |
